RE: Flood Insurance
As your flood insurance partner, we want to provide you with the
information you need to manage an upcoming remapping event in your
state.
March 6 Florida FEMA NFIP remapping flood zones.
FEMA NFIP recently announced some pretty astonishing price increases
including 25% on grandfathered properties , seasonal homes and
investment properties effective April 1, 2020. They are also
increasing their reserve fund surcharge from 15% to 18%. So, what can
you expect from Neptune in 2020? Let’s take a look under the hood!
Here are a few facts that you may want to use in conversations with
your customers:
•Every property is in a flood zone.
AE, VE and AH flood zones are lender required flood zones
•Your risk may be reduced but not removed from a flood zone.
•Preferred Risk Policies (PRP) are often less expensive. X zone
•Nearly 25% of all flood claims occur in low-to moderate-risk areas.
•Gaps in coverage can seriously affect your premium.
•In the past 5 years, all 50 states have experienced a flood or flash flooding.
•Just a few inches of floodwater can cause tens of thousands of
dollars in damage.
WE HAVE NEW PRIVATE MARKET FLOOD CARRIERS. PRIVATE FLOOD MARKETS
CONTINUE TO INCREASE AS NFIP FEMA FLOOD PREMIUMS INCREASE DUE TO
REMOVAL OF SURCHARGES.
Re: Homeowners and Dwelling Insurance
Carriers are still paying claims on IRMA damage from 09/10/2017. THey
are getting pickier with conditions of roof covers and require new
roof covers for shingles > 20 years when beginning a new policy.
Check roof condition carefully prior to purchase.
The state is checking carrier financials each quarter and we continue
to monitor credit ratings , we only deal with A rated carriers.
GOOD LUCK AS ALWAYS WE ARE HERE FOR YOUR NEEDS EACH DAY!
